It's been a busy past few week's with friends weddings, stags and summer activities going on, I havnt had much time to try and keep my blog updated daily. This should have been posted a few weeks back.
Id like to take this time to congratulate Vernon Vipers forward, David Robinson on being named the 2010-11 Vipers captain. Robinson join's the likes of former local products, Kori Davison (1999-00) & Chad Murray (2002-03) as the only Vernon products to wear the "C" for the Vernon Vipers.
I think Dave was a great choice for this year's captain, a local kid as well as someone who know's all about the Vipers rich history. With just a possible seven returning players back from last year's RBC Cup team Dave will have alot of pressure on his shoulders to try and guide the Vipers back to the RBC Cup and try and three peat as National Champions.
Robinson's leadership and gritty play will be called apon this season to help guide and lead the newer younger players joining the Vipers this season. A so called rebuilding year, it will be interesting to see what Mark Ferner and Jason Williamson can do with this year's Vipers.
My guess for assistant captains would be, Adam Thompson, Bryce Kakoske and Steve Weinstein.
Again congrats to David Robinson and nothing but the best in your final season of Junior Hockey.
