Centennials Name Former Vipers Tryout Goaltender Tyler Steel Unsung Hero At Year End Awards Banquet:

The Merritt Centennials named former Vernon Vipers tryout goaltender, Tyler Steel & Lino Chimienti with the Unsung Hero award Thursday at the Cents year end awards banquet. Steel attended the Vipers training camp last year before being released after the exibition season as the Vipers went with Bryton Udy for the backup position. Steel then signed with Merritt to start the BCHL regular season.  In 29 regular season games this season, Steel went (15-11-1) with three shutouts and a 2.60 GAA

Steel and the Centennials fell short of moving on to the BCHL League Finals after falling in five games to the Penticton Vees.
