Vernon Vipers forward David Robinson has been named the British Columbia Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending May 8, the league announced on Monday.
It's a fitting finish for the Viper captain and despite not winning the second RBC Cup title he was looking for, Robinson was the Snakes most consistent performer in Camrose last week.
The Vernon native scored a goal in each game until the final when the Pembroke Lumber Kings posted a 2-0 shutout to win the title.
Robinson had one goal against each of Portage, Wellington and Pembroke in the preliminary round before putting up a goal and an assist against Wellington in the 4-1 semifinals win.
The 5-foot-10, 185-pounder finished the RBC Cup tied for third in tournament scoring with four goals and two assists.
Honourable mentions this week include Vipers defenceman Brett Corkey who had the highest point total among defencemen and led the tournament with six assists, Vipers forward Patrick McGillis who returned from injury Wednesday to be named Game Star and went on to post four goals, Vipers forward Dylan Walchuk who earned Game Stars Monday and Thursday and had three goals and two assists for the week and Vipers defenceman Adam Thompson who had five assists for the week and played big minutes on the blueline.
