Doyle Cup Game 7 Preview: Vernon @ Spruce Grove:

Tonight is Game 7 of the Doyle Cup as the AJHL Enerflex Champion Spruce Grove Saints forced tonight's game with a must win 2-0 Game 6 last night at the Grant Fuhr Arena. The Saints have a chance at winning just their third Doyle Cup as the BCHL's Fred Page Cup Champion Vernon Vipers have a chance at winning their third straight Doyle Cup Championship and eighth Doyle Cup in franchise history with a win tonight. Key’s and Notes to tonight’s game:

-The Vipers dont need to know how important tonight's game is and whats at stake. A win and the Vipers will win their third straight Doyle Cup and eighth in team history and advance to their ninth National Championship

-For the first time this year, the Vipers season is on the line.  The seven players from last years RBC Cup team know what it takes to win and need to lead by example tonight

-Both these same two teams played in Game 7 of the Doyle Cup last year with the Vipers coming away with a 7-3 victory

-Vernon is looking at becoming just the second team in history to make it to three straight National Championships.  The Vernon Lakers hold the record of four straight trips to the Centennial Cup (1989-1992)

-The Vipers need to generate more chances and capitalize on their chances if they want to be succesful tonight

-Vernon has the 12th best powerplay in the BCHL playoffs

-The Vipers have the 6th best penalty kill during the BCHL post season

-The Vipers are going to have to try and find ways through the Saints defence

-Vernon has to score first and make the Saints try and battle back

-The Vipers have scored first in four out of the six games in this series

-Vernon who has alot of confidence playing on the road has a 9-2 road record in these playoffs

-After last night's 2-0 loss, Vernon's previous loss on the road in these playoffs was a 4-2 loss back on March 11th in Westside

-Vernon has to try and find a way to stop Scott Allen who has (5-1-6) in six games vs the Vipers this series

-Kirby Halcrow (12-6 Record) is ranked 4th amongst BCHL playoff goaltenders

-The Vipers have confidence and know they can win in Spruce Grove with two out of three wins here this series

-Vernon needs to play physical and compete for a full 60 minutes

-Vernon has just three losses in it's last thirteen playoff games

-Dylan Walchuk (10-5-15) & Patrick McGillis (6-9-15) are both in the BCHL playoffs top twenty scoring leaders

-Vernon is 2-6 in these playoffs when giving up the games first goal
