Doyle Cup Game 4 Preview: Vernon @ Spruce Grove:

Tonight is Game 4 of the Doyle Cup and the first home game of the series for the Enerflex Champion Spruce Grove Saints. The Vipers come into Spruce Grove down 2-1 in the series, with the remainder of the series played in Alberta. You can listen to tonight's game live on 107.5 Kiss FM with Todd Miller and Don Klepp starting with the pre game show at 5:45 PM

Key’s and Notes to tonight’s game:

-Tonight is a key game for the Vipers. A win and the series is all tied, a loss and Vernon is down 3-1 and on the brinks of elimination

-The Vipers need to slow the game down early and take the crowd out of the game

-The Vipers need to put Games 2 & 3 behind them, and start over. Getting off to a good start and scoring first is key

-Vernon has the 12th best powerplay in the BCHL playoffs

-The Vipers have alot of confidence playing on the road with a 7-1 playoff road record

-The Vipers have the 6th best penalty kill during the BCHL post season

-The Vipers need to keep things simple and play a solid defensive road game

-Vernon has to try and find a way to stop Scott Allen who has (3-1-4) in three games vs the Vipers this series

-This isnt the first time Vernon has been down in a series and has had to come back to win the series. The Vipers were down 2-1 in the Westside series and 2-0 in the Salmon Arm series, both series wich they come back to win the series in six games

-Kirby Halcrow (12-4 Record) is ranked 4th amongst BCHL playoff goaltenders

-Vernon needs to play physical and compete for a full 60 minutes

-Dylan Walchuk (10-5-15) & Patrick McGillis (6-9-15) are both in the BCHL playoffs top twenty scoring leaders

-The Vipers need to generate more scoring chances with the man advantage and capitalize on the powerplay

-Vernon is 2-5 in these playoffs when giving up the games first goal

-The Vipers are 2-1 all time at the Grant Fuhr arena

-Vernon needs to shoot and try and get lots of pucks on net with the man advantage

-The Vipers are 11-1 in these playoffs when scoring first

-Vernon needs to capitalize on their scoring chances

-The Vipers have to try and get more traffic and pucks towards Vincenzo Marozzi
