Former Vernon Vipers forward, Drew George and the Weyburn Red Wings went out in five games in the first round of the SJHL playoffs to the Kindersley Klippers. This past week George picked up three awards at the Red Wings year end awards banquet. George was named Weyburn Security Award - Gentlemanly Conduct, Fred Dolinski Memorial Scholarship & Dee Jay's Kentucky Fried Chicken Award - Most Popular Player as Chosen by the Fans. George started last year with the Vipers before being traded to Cowichan Valley along with Nick Amies for Curtis Gedig.
