Former Vernon Laker Salmond Takes Responsibility For Disappointing World Juniors:

Former Vernon Lakers forward Scott Salmond takes responsibility for 2nd straight disappointing world juniors.

Salmond is Canada’s Senior Vice-President, High Performance & Hockey Operations. Salmond has been involved with Team Canada since 2001.

Salmond played parts of two years in Vernon (1988-1990) before being traded to the Kelowna Spartans during the 1989-90 season. In 52 games with the Vernon Lakers, Salmond collected (7-goals-26-assists-33-points). Salmond played in the BCJHL with Vernon, Kelowna, Bellingham & Merritt from 1988-1992. 

The Vernon Lakers were around from 1980-1995 before changing their name to the Vernon Vipers in 1995
