The Vernon Vipers go into a two-game home weekend not totally sure who will be in their lineup.
“We won’t know,” answered Viper head coach/GM Mark Ferner, when asked about lineup changes for his B.C. Hockey League team.
“We’ve got a bunch of guys with nagging injuries so we’re taking it day by day.”
The Vipers may have to use one or two affiliates since Jagger Williamson, Riley Brandt and Colton McCarthy are likely probable starters at best.
McCarthy took a hit in practice, while Brandt is nursing a back injury from last weekend’s action. Williamson’s hip is sore after he returned to action last weekend.
Forward Christian Cakebread injured his knee in his Viper debut Friday night. He’s sidelined for at least another week.
The Vipers (8-6-0-1) host the West Kelowna Warriors (7-5-0-2) tonight and entertain the Victoria Grizzlies (2-9) Saturday at 6 p.m.
West Kelowna lost 4-2 to the first-place Penticton Vees Wednesday night before 2,266 fans at the South Okanagan Events Centre. Tyson Jost supplied two goals for the Vees (13-1).
