The Vipers make their first and only regular season visit to the Hap Parker Arena tonight. Since the 2003-04 regular season Vernon is 12-8-0-1 vs. Powell River. Tonight is the third game of a five game road trip. Vernon is coming off a split at the BCHL Showcase last weekend. The Vipers dropped the first game 3-2 to the expansion Wenatchee Wild Saturday afternoon before a come from behind 4-3 double overtime victory Sunday morning vs Cowichan. Vernon went 2-0 vs the Kings last year winning 4-3 in Powell River on December 12th 2014. Tonight is the fifth straight game the Vipers will face a team from either the Island or Mainland Division. Vernon sits 5th in the Interior Division are a single point back of Merritt & West Kelowna and just three points back of Division leading Penticton. The Vipers were busy making two trades Thursday afternoon while adding two new faces to the lineup. Vernon traded veteran 20 yr old goaltender Jarrod Schamerhorn to Merritt, while sending second year forward Nicholas Rasovic to the AJHL Drayton Valley Thunder.  The Vipers then added-signed former Penticton Vees backup goaltender Brendan Barry and ex Tri-City Americans forward Zach Andrasiuk. 

Steven Jandric (6-5-11) leads the team lead in goals with six while Odeen Tufto (4-8-12) leads the team lead in points with twelve.

Lets take a look at the Powell River Kings:

The Island Division leading Powell River Kings return home after winning both games in Chilliwack last weekend at the BCHL Showcase. The Kings defeated Coquitlam & Surrey improving to 5-2. Tonight is the first game of a two game home stand before the Kings head out on a three game road trip. Powell River will face the Vipers twice this season, will travel to Vernon on December 20th. The Kings went 1-1 during the pre-season have thirteen players back from last year's team. Since the 2003-04 regular season Powell River is 8-4-0-0 at home vs Vernon. 

Tristin Mullin (4-2-6) & Mitchell Hawes (4-0-4) share the team lead in goals with four while, Jeremy Leclerc (3-4-7) leads the team lead in scoring with seven.
