Vipers 'tender Shortridge stops ton of rubber in POW performance

Vernon Vipers goaltender Andrew Shortridge has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 18, the league announced Monday.
Shortridge backstopped the Vipers to three wins and was named a game star each night. The Quinnipiac University recruit began his week with a 41-save effort in a 5-1 home win over Trail where he was 2nd Star but topped that with a 46-save shutout and 1st Star in a 3-0 win over visiting Merritt. The native of Eagle River, Alaska made 35 saves for another 2nd Star in a 5-3 road win over Merritt.
The 6-foot-3, 183-pound Shortridge made 122 saves on 126 shots for the week, posting a 0.968 save percentage and 1.33 goals-against average.
