Vernon is coming off a 5-3 win over the visiting Penticton Vees Saturday. The Vipers have cut down to twenty six players heading into tonight's contest. The Vipers won three of seven games between the Silverbacks last season, will make their first of five visits to the Shaw Centre this coming season. Vernon & Salmon Arm will face each other ten times this year.

The Salmon Arm Silverbacks finished in 5th place in the Interior Division missing the BCHL playoffs after a 25-24-2-8 record losing their final ten games of the season. The Silverbacks will play their second of six pre-season games this season opened the Exhibition schedule with a 9-2 victory over the visiting Prince George Spruce Kings Tuesday. Salmon Arm has thirty one players left on their pre-season roster, one is goaltender Zach Dyment who was an "AP" with the Vipers last season. Dyment was called up for a few games as the backup goaltender when Todosychuk or Smith were injured. The Silverbacks took three of four home games vs the Vipers last season, begin a three game road trip tomorrow night before finishing the Exhibition schedule back at home. The Backs open the regular season in Chilliwack at the BCHL Showcase September 19th vs Langley.
