Vernon Vipers forward Liam Coughlin committed to Boston University in April for the 2014-15 season. Several reports on different twitter accounts and college hockey blogs over the summer reported that Coughlin will join the Terriers for the 2015-16 season. Jeff Cox then reported on his twitter account on August 5th 2014 that Coughlin will return to Vernon this coming season to play a second year with the Vipers. Cox later reported that Coughlin will be back with the Vipers but said two sources say Coughlin may also end up in the USHL but for now is added to the Vipers roster & will play with the Vipers this season. Vernon Vipers Head Coach-GM Jason Williamson also tweeted in August that Coughlin will be back with the Vipers. The Vernon Morning Star newspaper mentioned Friday that Coughlin was one of six players returning to the Vipers from last years RBC Cup team. Well Coughlin was a no show at the Vipers Training Camp over the long weekend. His name wasnt on any of the lineup sheets, so I did a little digging and come across this,

2015 recruit Liam Coughlin, who scored 18 goals and 27 assists in 53 regular season games (and another 13 points in the playoffs) for BCHL Vernon last season, had been expected to return to the Vipers for a second season. However, Providence Journal reporter Mark Divver reports that the 6-3 left wing from South Boston will instead stay closer to home and join the USPHL Premier Division South Shore Kings. Joining Coughlin on the Kings is former BU recruit Shane Starrett. The two previously were teammates at Catholic Memorial.
