I watched the Bucks-Vipers game on Flo Hockey tonight. The Bucks were by far the better team and outplayed Vernon in the 1st period, jumping out to a 3-0 lead. The Vipers weren't in the game and saw most of the period in their own end. I really liked the Snakes 2nd period and thought the Vipers responded with a much better effort/period and were the better team. Down 3-1 heading into the 3rd the Vipers couldn't get much going, before getting into penalty trouble as the Bucks blew the game open in the 3rd. Special teams was the difference as Cranbrook looks good, have scored fifteen goals in two games, are 2-0 to start the season, while the Vipers fall to 0-2 After two games I have noticed too many penalties, and have struggled defensively. The Vipers have trouble clearing the zone, turning over pucks in their own end and often. Marko Bilic kept the Vipers in the game at times. The Snakes have given up eleven goals in two games. Listening to the post game show, Lukas Lomicky didn't sound too happy with the game, the teams effort/performance.

It's early and lots of time for improvement but the Vipers need some work. The Vipers road trip continues Friday in West Kelowna.

Go Vipers Go!

Lots of chatter during the preseason about how small the team was looking especially on the back end. Early on this seems to be a big problem and just like last year the Vipers can't put the puck in the net. Is it the coaching or the recruitment of players?

I listened to the game on Beach radio. Boy Cranbrook and Trail sound like they both have good teams. Trail I see beat WK in OT last night. The Vipers shocked me on their PK but then again took way to many penalties, they have to clean up on that. Lomicky said in his post game, that's not acceptable.

I had a really good feeling about our team from what I saw in exhibition and i'm not saying we should have won both those games this weekend but a lot closer games in score.

The vipers have to tighten up there defense and not let the opponent get behind them. When the Vipers are down a goal or two, don't take stupid penalties cause your PK was terrible last night and it cost you the game

With new coaches hopefully it’s not the coaching. Not every team starts the season winning, no matter what league they’re in.

Its early in the season. The kids have to get better with the viper system and each other. I am not worried. The kids will either by into the system or they will be gone. Go Vipers Go.
