Mackin's six-point weekend includes 50th goal and leads to POW nod

Coquitlam Express forward Corey Mackin has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending Feb. 22, the league announced Monday.
Mackin scored his 50th goal of the season as part of a six-point weekend in which the Express won both of their games. The Philadelphia native had a goal and a helper in a 6-4 home win over the Surrey Eagles and followed that with a two-goal game, including his 50th of the season, plus two assists and 1st Star in a 6-4 victory over the visiting Cowichan Valley Capitals.
Committed to Ferris State University for next season, Mackin leads the BCHL currently in goals with 50 and points with 103. He is the first BCHL player to reach the 50-goal mark since 2010.
