Here is a tribute video on former Vernon Canadians forward & Head Coach Odie Lowe. Lowe was recently inducted into the Okanagan Sports Hall of Fame in November 2014.
Lowe played four games with the New York Rangers in 1949-50 then spent a couple years in the minors before spending the last nine years of his career in the senior Okanagan league, playing with the Vernon Canadians. Lowes best season was a league high 61 goals and 114 points in 1956-57. Before retiring in 1961 Lowe finished his last three seasons with 30 goals in each of the final three years. Lowe led Vernon to the 1956 Allan Cup and three BC titles in a decade. Lowe put together Vernon's first Junior A team in 1961, and coached the franchise to a pair of BCJHL championships. After retirement Lowe coached the Vernon Canadians in 1961-62 & then coached the Vernon Essos from 1967-1973.
