Vipers Staff Member Jumps To WHL

Written by Peter McIntyre Tuesday, 29 July 2014

The Vernon Vipers' trainer/equipment manager has taken a job as the assistant trainer with the Regina Pats of the WHL.

Gord Cochran has been with the club since 2009, and head coach-GM Jason Williamson has nothing but good things to say about him.

"Hoon has been one of the hardest workers in our organization over the past 5 years. He did a terrific job taking care of the players and it was an area within the organization that I never had to worry about. He will be very tough to replace but this is a great opportunity for him to move on and pursue a dream of someday working in the NHL.

Cochran, a native of Williams Lake, thanks Duncan Wray, Jason Williamson, Lon Fraser, Gavin Smart, Todd Miller, Dave Robinson, Mark Ferner, the rest of the Vipers staff, and all the players for making his time here in Vernon very special.

"It has given me the opportunity to further my career and I will be always grateful for this" he says.

The Vipers have started the search for a new trainer/equipment manager.
