PRESS RELEASE
With a recent injury to goaltender Austin Smith the Vipers have been forced to complete a trade for a goaltender. Vernon has acquired 19 year old Ontario product Michael Stiliadis from the Georgetown Raiders of the Ontario Junior Hockey League. The trade is for future considerations.
In 12 games this season the goaltender has posted a record of 5-6 with a goals against average of 3.08 and a save percentage of .898
Stiliadis is familiar with the league having played last season with the Victoria Grizzlies of the BCHL and where he had a record 15-14-1 with a 2.97 Goals against average and a save percentage of .895
Austin Smith has been placed on the injured reserve list by the team with a lower body injury and isn’t expected to return to the line-up for at least 30 days.
