The WHL Everett Silvertips have traded former Vernon Vipers forward Zach McPhee to the Kootenay Ice. McPhee
played parts of three seasons in Everett (2010-2012) also played parts of one season
in Vernon (2010-11) before leaving the Vipers for the Everett Silvertips. In 24
games with the Vipers McPhee collected (3-1-4) McPhee is property of the
Victoria Grizzlies after the Vipers traded McPhee and future considerations to
the Grizzlies last year on December, 12th 2011 for defenceman Sean
Robertson.

EVERETT – The Everett Silvertips today announced a trade sending the WHL rights to forward Zach McPhee to the Kootenay Ice in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.
McPhee, 19, left the Silvertips last week with the intention of continuing his career at the Junior-A level. He appeared in 49 games with Everett over parts of three seasons after being acquired in a December 2010 trade with Tri-City. He was scoreless with 12 penalty minutes and a -3 plus/minus rating in 11 games with Everett this season. In 57 career WHL games, the Vernon, BC product posted six goals and five assists for 11 points, 42 penalty minutes and a +1 rating.
Next up for Everett is another U.S. Division road game tonight against the Tri-City Americans. Opening faceoff is set for 7:05 pm, with pregame radio coverage from the Toyota Center starting at 6:30 on Fox Sports 1380 AM. The Silvertips will then head to Spokane for a pair of games against the Chiefs on Saturday and Tuesday before returning home to face the Red Deer Rebels Wednesday at Comcast Arena.
