This is posted on Brian Wiebe's Merritt Centennials Blog:G Matt Zaba (Penticton/Vernon, 2001-03) signed a one-year contract with Hockey Club Bolzano-Bozen (Italy Serie A). Zaba played just one season in Vernon back in 2002-03. Zaba played 24 games last season with Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL), sporting a record of 6-12-2 with a 3.15 GAA and a .899 save percentage. He also played three games with Charlotte Checkers (ECHL) with a 2-1-0 record, a 3.58 GAA and a .884 save percentage. Zaba played one game with New York Rangers (NHL), coming on in relief of Henrik Lundqvist. His NHL record is 0-0-0 with a 3.56 GAA and a .875 save percentage.
