I attended several Chicago Steel home games, and Gill started strong, he was always announced in the starting lineup and got a lot of ice time. Then the team went into a bit of a slump and his production went way down. In several of those games his +/- was relatively poor.
One game that stood out was December 18 against USHL-leading Omaha. The Steel played one of their most exciting games of the season, and I don't think Gill got a single shift in the third period. That night he was a featured player in a post-game autograph session -- I'm glad I stopped by while I had the chance and got an autographed photo as a memento of his brief stint here.
