This story brings back so many great memories for myself. Watching some pretty bad Lakers teams in the early 1980's Mel Lis changed the culture and junior hockey in Vernon and gave Vernon a dynasty. I never met Mel but remember him smoking his cigars in his so called "office" in the one corner of the Civic Arena, Sometimes you would look up at the office and it looked like it was on fire from all the cigar smoke ha ha

If Duncan Wray had a banner raised to the rafters of Kal Tire Place, Mel Lis should have a banner go up in his honor/memory.
