I watched the Vipers-Bandits game on FloHockey. This was a much better effort, performance and game by the Vipers then Fridays game in Blackfalds. For a team that had to win Friday sure didn’t put in the sixty minutes but in a game that didn’t matter tonight, the Vipers responded. The Snakes held their own vs a very good Bandits team and played very well. This game was pretty even in a game that was entertaining. Both goaltenders played very well. The difference was the Vipers couldn’t capitalize on a double minor and the Bandits did. Vernon got into penalty trouble in the 3rd and it cost them the game. With no playoffs this season, I liked that the Vipers brought up two of their recruited players for next season and got them into tonight’s game. Henry Colbert & Keegan Shirley made their Vipers debut tonight.

Fans would it not be nice if the end of trading date was Jan 10 rather than Feb. 10 as it would give us fans more of an opportunity to get to know the hockey players and see there improvement because of our coaching staff on the ice. The owners really have to sit down and discuss this because I as a fan find it sickening to watch the drama of bringing in 50 players and letting go 50 players and then settling on a team somewhere near the end of the season. It is not fair to the fans, hockey players nor the worth of the BCHL League to see this continue as I see if this continues the future as being bleak. So let us hope the owners have a little common sense and change the trade deadline .

I had dinner with friends but got to listen to the 2nd and 3rd periods on the radio. The Vipers sounded like they played a lot better. The team was pretty even with Brooks and the Vipers blew it on on a 4 minute PP as they took a penalty midway through that PP and then penalty trouble cost them the game. Hopefully the boys will learn something from this and shoot the puck more on net and have a player there to get the rebounds and score some goals. Vipers need to play more consistent in the last 3 games of the season and end the season on a winning note. Go Vipers Go
