Everblades Add Vipers Alumni Lansdell To Season-Ending Roster:

The ECHL Florida Everblades announced June 24th the team’s Season-

Ending Roster for the 2023-24 season. The Everblades have twenty players on their
 Season-Ending Roster, one is former Vernon Vipers forward Jesse Lansdell.

Lansdell split the 2023-24 season with the University of Nebraska-Omaha & the ECHL Florida Everblades. In 6 games with the Everblades last season, Lansdell collected (2-goals-0-assists-2-points). Lansdell and the Everblades won the 2024 Kelly Cup.

Lansdell played last season at the University of Nebraska-Omaha before signing his first professional contract with the ECHL Florida Everblades April 1st 2024. Lansdell played the previous four seasons at the University of Notre Dame from 2019-2023.

Lansdell played parts of three seasons with the Vernon Vipers from 2016-2019. The Vipers traded defenceman Mitch Oliver October 15th 2016 to the Chilliwack Chiefs for Jesse Lansdell. In 127 games with the Vipers, Lansdell collected (31-goals-60-assists-91-points).

named former Vernon Vipers video coach/scout Levi Stuart new Head Coach/GM.

Wings Add Former Viper Forward MacDonald To Season-Ending Roster:

 Season-Ending Roster, one is former Vernon Vipers forward Ayden MacDonald.

MacDonald has spent the past two seasons with the ECHL Kalamazoo Wings, after re-signing with the Wings August 29th 2023. In 64 games last season, MacDonald collected (13-goals-9-assists-22-points).

MacDonald split the 2022-23  season with the ECHL Greenville Swamp Rabbits & ECHL Kalamazoo Wings. MacDonald started the 2022-23 season with the Swamp Rabbits before being traded to Kalamazoo March 16th 2023.

MacDonald played five years at Brock University from 2017-2022 before signing his first professional contract with the ECHL Greenville Swamp Rabbits January 4th 2022.

MacDonald committed to the Vernon Vipers for the 2014-15 season. The Vipers traded MacDonald & Jake Emilio to the Victoria Grizzlies October 8th 2014 for Brandon Egli, Mitch Meek and future considerations. MacDonald went pointless in 5 games with the Vipers. Mallette will be entering his sixth season as Head Coach of the Western Hockey League Kelowna Rockets.

Mallette was an Assistant Coach with Canada’s National Men’s Summer Under-18 Team last season, an Assistant Coach with Hockey Canada's Under 18 team at the 2023 Hlinka Gretzky Cup & Head Coach of Canada Red U17 2021-22 team.

Mallette is a Rockets Alumni (1996-1999) has been with the Rockets for the past ten seasons. Mallette spent six seasons as an Assistant Coach with the Rockets from 2014-2020 before being named Head Coach March 2nd 2020.

Mallette played ten seasons in the ECHL, UHL, CHL & IHL with Louisiana, Baton Rouge, Ashville, Elmira, Colorado, Youngstown, Laredo & Flint from 2000-2009 before retiring from professional hockey in 2009. Mallette spent three seasons in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League as an Assistant Coach & Head Coach of the North Okanagan Knights from 2010-2013.

Vipers Alumni Coughlin Arrested:

Former Vernon Vipers forward Liam Coughlin is one of three Iowa 
Heartlanders arrested.

Coughlin played the 2023-24 season with the ECHL Iowa Heartlanders, signing as a free agent August 14th 2023. In 47 games last season, Coughlin collected (6-goals-7-assists-13-points).

Coughlin played the previous two seasons with the ECHL Worcester Railers.

Coughlin played four seasons at Vermont University from 2015-2019 before signing his first professional contract with the American Hockey League Rockford IceHogs May 19th 2019.

Coughlin was drafted 130th overall by the Edmonton Oilers in Round 5 at the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Coughlin didn't play a game with the Oilers, was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks July 6th 2015. Coughlin has yet to play a game with the Blackhawks.

Coughlin played two seasons in Vernon from 2013-2015. In 107 games with the Vipers, Coughlin collected (38-goals-67-assists-105-points).

Jacksonville Icemen Add Ex Viper Martin To Season-Ending Roster:

The ECHL Jacksonville Icemen announced June 24th the team’s Season-

Ending Roster for the 2023-24 season.  The Icemen have eighteen players listed on their
 Season-Ending Roster, one is former Vernon Vipers forward Craig Martin.

Martin has played the past five seasons with the Icemen. In 52 games last season, Martin collected (15-goals-24-assists-39-points).

Martin played his first three seasons with the Icemen before going to Slovakia for the 2022-23 season. Martin split the 2022-23 season with the Jacksonville Icemen & HC Grotto . Martin started the 2022-23 season with HC Grotto after signing with the team June 6th 2022 before signing with the Jacksonville Icemen December 13th 2022. 

HC Grotto is an ice hockey team playing in the Slovak Extraliga. They play in the city of Prešov, Slovakia. In 20 games last season, Martin collected (4-goals-5-assists-9-points).

Martin played four seasons at Quinnipiac University from 2015-2019 before signing his first professional contract with the American Hockey League Springfield Thunderbirds April 2nd 2019. Martin didn't play a game with the Thunderbirds, was released, later signing with the ECHL Adirondak Thunder July 8th 2019. The Thunder traded Martin to Jacksonville November 26th 2019.

HK Spišská Nová Ves is a professional Slovak ice hockey club based in Spišská Nová Ves. They currently play in the Slovak Extraliga. The team was established in 1932.

Andrusiak started the 2023-24 season with the ECHL Cincinnati Cyclones. Andrusiak was in his third season with the Cyclones after re-signing with the Cyclones September 8th 2023. Andrusiak signed a Professional Try-out (PTO) with the American Hockey League Calgary Wranglers January 27th 2024 was returned to Cincinnati January 29th 2024. The Cyclones loaned Andrusiak to Calgary Febraury 7th 2024 before the Wranglers returned Andrusiak back to the ECHL February 16th 2024. The Cyclones traded Andrusiak on the ECHL trade deadline day to the Florida Everblades on March 21st 2024. Andrusiak never played a single game with the Everblades, was traded to the Fort Wayne Komets on March 21st 2024. In 8 games with the Komets last season, Andrusiak collected (3-goals-3-assists-6-points).

Andrusiak played the 2022-23 season with the ECHL Cincinnati Cyclones. Andrusiak signed a Professional Try-out (PTO) with the American Hockey League Manitoba Moose March 6th 2023 was released March 11th 2023 returning to Cincinnati.

Andrusiak played three seasons in the Western Hockey League from 2016-2019 with Tri-Cities, Seattle, Prince Albert & Everett before signing his first professional contract with the ECHL Idaho Steelheads August 8th 2019.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have invited former Vernon Vipers

defenceman Luke Ashton to their Development Camp.

Flyers Invite Ex Vipers Taylor & Parks To Development Camp:

The Philadelphia Flyers have invited former Vernon Vipers defenceman

Trey Taylor & former Vernon Vipers forward Lee Parks to their Development Camp.

Taylor has spent the past two seasons at Clarkson University was recently named named to the 2023-24 Second Team All-ECAC. In 35 games last season, Taylor collected (4-goals-13-assists-17-points).

Taylor played three seasons in Vernon with the Vipers from 2018-2021 before leaving for the United States Hockey League Youngstown Phantoms. The Phantoms selected Taylor 31st overall May 28th 2021 in Round 3 in Phase 2 of the Unites States Hockey League Draft. Taylor played the 2021-22 season with the Phantoms before joining Clarkson University in 2022. 

Taylor played three seasons in Vernon with the Vipers from 2018-2021. In 125 games with the Vipers, Taylor collected (8-goals-32-assists-40-points).

Glasgow Clan Sign Former Vernon Viper Finlay:

Vernon Vipers forward Liam Finlay.

The Glasgow Clan (formerly Braehead Clan) is a Scottish professional ice hockey team. It was formed in 2010 as the UK Elite Ice Hockey League expanded into the West of Scotland market, and are based at the Braehead Arena in Renfrewshire. It is currently one of three Scottish clubs playing in the top British league.

Finlay has played the past two seasons with the ECHL Allen Americans. The Americans added Finlay to their Protected List June 10th 2024. The Americans re-signed Finlay July 13th 2023. In 26 games last season, Finlay collected (8-goals-11-assist-19-points).

Finlay played two seasons in Europe from 2020-2022 playing with four different teams (KOVEE, HK Nitra, Tingsryds AIF & EHC Freiburg) before signing with the ECHL Allen Americans September 27th 2022. Finlay was named to the ECHL 2022-23 All-Rookie team.

Finlay played four years at Denver University from 2016-2020 before signing his first professional contract with Koovee September 7th 2020. Koovee is a Finnish ice hockey team that plays in the Mestis, second-tier league where the team is based in Tampere, Finland. 

Finlay attended the Vancouver Canucks development camp in July 2019.

Finlay played parts of two seasons in Vernon (2014-2016) after coming over in a trade with the Penticton Vees. The Vipers traded the Junior A playing rights of Dakota Conroy & future considerations October 28th 2014 to the Penticton Vees for Liam Finlay. The Edmonton Oilers are in the market for a new GM as Ken Holland's contract comes to an end | CBC News


Holland has spent the past five seasons as President & General Manager of the Edmonton Oilers.


Holland started as an NHL Scout with the Detroit Red Wings in 1985. Holland was a Scout with the Red Wings from 1985-1987 before being named to Director of Amateur Scouting in 1987 until being named Assistant General Manager in 1994 then being named General Manager & Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations in 1997. Holland left the Red Wings in 2019 was named General Manager & President of Hockey Operations of the Edmonton Oilers May 7th 2019.

Holland was drafted 188th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in Round 12 of the 1975 NHL Draft. Holland never played a game with the Maple Leafs, played four games with the Hartford Whalers and Detroit Red Wings before retiring from professional hockey in 1985.

Holland played one season in Vernon with the 1973-74 Vernon Vikings.

The Vernon Vikings were around from 1973-1978 before changing their name to the Vernon Canadians in 1978.
