Vipers Acquire Pellah From MHL

Thursday, August 6, 2015

The Vernon Vipers are pleased to announce the acquisition of 20 year old defenceman Bo Pellah from the South Shore Lumberjacks of the Maritime Hockey League in exchange for future
considerations.

The 6'1 175 pound product from New West Minster is no stranger to the BCHL. Pellah has played in 103 regular season games between Langley and Alberni Valley while totalling 58 points.

Known for his offensive abilities and puck moving skills, Pellah is a welcomed addition to the Vernon blue line.

The Vipers will play two home exhibition games before the regular season begins on September 11, Salmon Arm will visit on August 29th and Prince George will be in Vernon on September 5th. Both games will be 6pm start times.

With only two defenceman listed on their current roster (Mitchell Oliver & Mac Ferner) you knew Mark Ferner wasnt going to rely on all young prospects on the backend. I figured he may try and bring in a veteran d-man or two before the season starts. I remember the name "Bo Pellah" but with him playing for Langley & Alberni Valley I dont remember watching him play as both teams only come here once a season, its hard to remember certain players from the Coast & Island teams when they only play here once. I do remember hearing alot of talk of him when he was a rookie. The Vipers will be his 9th team in five years, WOW!! Whats up with that? If this kid is so good, why nine teams in five years? It sounds like Pellah is a solid puck moving defenceman that can skate and is good with the puck. Adding a veteran 20 yr old d-man to your roster, will help as the Vipers now have just three defenceman that played Junior hockey last year. Looking forward to catching Pellah at the Vipers Training Camp and seeing what he can do.
