Enthusiasm about the Royal Bank Cup is growing.
Kelowna International Airport’s selfie campaign is gaining momentum as hockey fans and travellers passing through the airport are attracted to the novelty of taking a self portrait next to the large RBC Cup champion’s photo on the arrivals floor.
“We invite photo takers to post their shots on Instagram while naming the Kelowna International Airport and using the hashtag #YLWRBCCup,” said Jenelle Hynes, YLW marketing manager.
YLW is a primary sponsor of the RBC Cup, which is being held in Vernon from May 10 to 18. The event will attract the country’s top junior A hockey teams.
Photos must be posted before 10 p.m. May 6 and the winner’s photo will be randomly drawn May 7.
The winner will receive a full tournament pass for all 13 games of the RBC Cup.
Those who pop in to take a selfie can get free parking for 15 minutes in YLW’s short-term lot.
