For the 3rd time in the past 5 years, the Spruce Grove Saints can claim they are the best team in the AJHL.

Jake Mykitiuk broke a tied game (1 - 1) and scored the winner in OT on a breakaway goaing 5 hole on Drumheller Dragons tender Devin Buffalo.  Buffalo who played a nearly flawless game, made sensation save after save to give the Dragons a chance to win, and was the Drumheller, Star of the Game.

For the Saints, many players stepped up throughout the playoffs and played what could be their best hockey of the season to this point. In the end though, the Playoff MVP trophy was presented by AJHL League Comissioner Ryan Bartoshyk to Saints captain Corey Chorneyko.  Chorneyko, who early this season was a finalist for Defensemen of the Year,  showed throught out the AJHL playoffs why he is a elite level player.

The Saints now have a couple days rest before they make the journey to Dauphin Manitoba for the Cresent Point Energy - Western Canada Cup, April 25th - May 4th
