Star Sign Former Vipers Forward Murphy:

The Manglerud Star have signed former Vernon Vipers forward Kyle Murphy.  The Star is a Norwegian ice hockey team based in from Oslo, Norway.  Murphy finished his second and final year at Providence College last season. In 38 games last year Murphy collected (3-8-11). Murphy spent the 2009-2010 season with the University of Notre Dame before leaving school to join the Vipers for one full season in Vernon (2010-2011). In 58 games with the Vipers Murphy collected (18-25-43).

Kyle Murphy, 23 years old, has today signed a toårs contract with Manglerud Star. Kyle's latest NCAA and Providence College, playing in the legendary Hockey East division, where he was team captain. As avgangsstudent last year won Kyle a of characters: with personal titles, both at school and in your League in general, To name a few:


Derek Hines unsung hero Award

Awarded by the Hockey commissioners Association two the NCAA Division 1 hockey player "who displays exemplary sportsmanship, ice supremely competitive, intelligent and extraordinarily conditioned with an unmatched work ethic."

Joseph V. MacAndrew Award given annually to a male senior Varsity inside athlete who has achieved an outstanding level of performance in academics and athletics during his undergraduate career at Providence College. Providence College Hockey unsung hero Award voted by the players as the teammate who placed the team ahead of himself in order to help the group succeed.

Kyle played in the years before college in USHS team Shattuck St. Mary's where he along with new Rangers player Derek Stepan was one of your team's most important players. Due to american rules around a transition from the University of Notre Dame to Providence College via Vernon Vipers was Kyle suspended in season 2011/12 and was therefore not allowed to play matches. But Kyle is now a very successful season behind him as a captain for a of the United States their youngest collegelag this year, where they were to lead Providence to a 4TH place, only 2 points behind the winner U Mass-Lowell in his division. Kyle is described as a skøytesterk player with huge lagmoral and big heart, and extremely good lederkunnskaper, and who can play both center and ving.
