Former Vipers Defenceman Genoway Come Close To Making NHL Debut:

The University of North Dakota (UND Blog) reported yesterday that The Minnesota Wild thought they might have to make an emergency call-up on defense because of back issues with Kurtis Foster. Former Vernon Vipers defenceman, Chay Genoway would have been a candidate to be called up, but Foster practiced yesterday, the Wild will leave (Genoway) their top-scoring defenseman in the AHL.

Genoway played one season with the Vipers (2005-2006) was signed by the Minnesota Wild as a free agent, April 12, 2011. In 55 regular season games with the AHL Houston Aeros Genoway leads all Aeros defencemen with (6-17-23).
