Revelstoke Grizzlies make finals of Keystone Cup
Published: April 17, 2010
The Revelstoke Grizzlies qualified for the gold medal game of the Keystone Cup with a 7-2 victory over the Beaumont Chiefs Saturday afternoon.
The win guarantees Revelstoke a spot in the finals even though they still have one round-robin game left against the Northern Hawks Saturday night.
The Grizzlies took advantage of undisciplined play by the Chiefs, going 6 for 16 on the power play in the game.
They scored six power play goals before the half-way mark of the game and before the Chiefs even potted one of their own.
Defenceman Caleb Roy had four assists for the Grizzlies, while Luke Richardson and Jordan Bledsoe both had three points each.
The Grizzlies will play either the host Kamloops Storm or Saskatchewan's Tri-Town Thunder in the finals. As of 3:30 p.m. they were locked in battle for second place, with the Thunder holding a 3-2 lead less than half-way through the second period.
The final is set for Sunday at 1 p.m. Tickets cost $15.
