Graeme Gordon (2008-2010) Played in the BCHL from (2006-2010)
-The Vipers need to get lots of traffic and pucks towards the net. Vernon needs to try and get Marozzi moving side to side, get lots of bodies in front of him and somehow find a way to get pucks past the Saints goaltender.
-Vernon’s powerplay is shooting them in the foot. The Vipers have struggled all series with the man advantage and need to capitalize on these chances.
-The Vipers cant be outshooting Spruce Grove by half or more shots each and every game and come out on the losing end, the Vipers need to bury their chances and score on their opportunities.
-Mark Ferner is going to have to try something new, as the Saints seemed to have figured the Vipers out offensively. Spruce Grove has really done a great job the last two games at finally tying the Vipers up down low, not giving them any time or space and shutting down the Jones-Gill line. Vernon needs to somehow fight their way through this. The Saints seemed to have picked off some of the Vipers scoring plays as they break into the offensive zone.
-The Vipers need to be solid defensively, Vernon has struggled breaking out of their own end all series, with several turnovers or poor passes wich have resulted in the puck ending up on the sticks of a Spruce Grove player.
-The Vipers need a huge game from goaltender Graeme Gordon. I don’t think you can blame Gordon for any of the goals in the last two games, but the Vipers need a big save if down a goal.
-If there was any game when the team needed someone other then the Jones Twins to step up, tonight would be the game. The Vipers have had several players step it up this series and help contribute on the scoresheet, but tonight it’s going to take everyone as a team to win this battle.
-Vernon has 13 players from last years Royal Bank Cup Championship team, this is where leadership and experience comes into play. These 13 kids are the ones that need to lead the way and get the job done.
-The Vipers need to be a little more physical, try and get in guy’s faces, get under guys skin. Play with an edge.

What can you say about the Spruce Grove Saints? The Saints were outplayed and outchanced in most of the first three games in Alberta. Heading to BC the Saints lost Game 4 and were down 3-1 in the series with the remainder of the series not looking very bright. Well here we are two games later heading to a Game 7 as the Saints have climbed a huge hill winning back to back games in Vernon to force Game 7. Spruce Grove just like Powell River took them the first few games to find out how to slow down and stop the Vipers. Well its been working, can they do it again? The Saints have really shutdown the Vipers top line as well as much of Vernon’s scoring in the last two games. The Saints who don’t get very many scoring chances, take advantage and score on their opportunities when needed. The Saints seem to score timely goals and make a big play at certain times in a hockey game. Vince Marozzi has also done his job very well in robbing the Vipers over the last two games, coming up with some big saves. Give this team full credit, they don’t quit and battle hard till the end. As of now Spruce Grove has all the momentum and confidence going into Game 7, can they pull off the massive comeback with a win tonight?
-You can bet the Saints wont be changing the game plan, and stick with the same plan that got them wins in Games 5 & 6.
-Spruce Grove needs to keep up the forecheck and play a very tight defensive game against Vernon. Try and slow down or stop the Vipers offence.
-Vince Marozzi will be called apon once again to come up with the big saves when needed.
-Spruce Grove need’s to score first and try and take the crowd out of tonights game, you can expect a large crowd (if not a sellout)
-If the Saints can score first or go up by a goal or two, you can bet they will just slow things right down, clog up the offensive zone and not give Vernon any time or space.
-The Saints need to capitalize on their scoring chances and take advantage of any Vernon turnovers.
-Spruce Grove is going to have to battle hard tonight and try and win the races and loose puck battles.
-Spruce Grove does a good job at getting guys to the net and going for the rebounds, the Saints need to keep this up.
