The Vernon Vipers handed out some hardware at their Awards Gala at the Best Western Vernon Lodge on Monday night. The Vipers finished their regular season with 51 wins, 6 losses and 2 overtime losses for an outstanding 105 points, almost beating the BCHL record of 108 points. The team also smashed the record of fewest goals allowed in 60 games - the Vipers allowed just 119, 18 fewer than Penticton surrendered in 2005-06.
One Viper did set a record in his rookie season, Blake Voth had a goals against average of 1.79, which bested the 1.98 posted by Nanaimo's Sebastien Nolet in 2004-05. Blake's save percentage of 92.90 % came close to Pete Brady's mark of 93.17 (Powell River, 1996-97).
