The British Columbia Hockey League has announced the nominees for the league's 2009/10 Awards. Nominations and voting are conducted by BCHL coaches, and the award winners will be announced on Wednesday, February 24th. The nominees are:
Most Valuable Player
Coastal Conference: Colton Beck (Langley Chiefs), Mitch MacMillan (Alberni Valley Bulldogs), Frank Slubowski (Alberni Valley Bulldogs).
Interior Conference: Trevor Bailey (Westside Warriors), Denver Manderson (Penticton Vees), Mark Zengerle (Salmon Arm SilverBacks).
Rookie of the Year
Coastal Conference: Matt Garbowsky (Powell River Kings), Mark MacMillan (Alberni Valley Bulldogs), Frank Slubowski (Alberni Valley Bulldogs).
Interior Conference: Beau Bennett (Penticton Vees), Joey Laleggia (Penticton Vees), Sam Mellor (Trail Smoke Eaters).
Top Defenceman
Coastal Conference: Mat Bodie (Powell River Kings), Jordan Heywood (Victoria Grizzlies), Kevin Ross (Alberni Valley Bulldogs).
Interior Conference: Brendan Ellis (Westside Warriors), Joey Laleggia (Penticton Vees), Greg Noyes (Salmon Arm SilverBacks).
Most Sportsmanlike Player
Coastal Conference: Mike Hammond (Cowichan Valley Capitals), Kevin Ross (Alberni Valley Bulldogs). Connor Tiechko (Surrey Eagles).
