Former Vernon Vipers forward, Kyle St. Denis & the Kelowna Rockets defeated the Calgary Hitmen 3-2 in Overtime to win the WHL Championship and a berth in the 2009 Memorial Cup.
The Kelowna Rockets are the 2009 WHL Champions. The Rockets captured the Ed Chynoweth Cup in dramatic fashion on Saturday night before a raucous crowd at Prospera Place.
Tyson Barrie scored on a power play at 8:13 of overtime after a beautiful feed from Jamie Benn to give Kelowna a six-game series win over the Calgary Hitmen.

The Rockets will travel to Rimouski, Quebec and the Mastercard Memorial Cup which opens on May 15th.
