I watched the Vipers game on my computer this evening. I thought the Spruce Kings had a bit of an edge and a bit more play in the 1st but the Vipers responded with a very good 2nd period, scoring three goals to take a 4-1 lead into the 3rd. The wheels almost fall off as Vernon gets into penalty trouble and the Spruce Kings get to within a goal before Julian Facchinelli puts the game away with an empty net goal. This was an entertaining game but also disappointing and nail biter. Playing the last place team in the Conference, there is no way the Snakes should almost blow a 4-1 3rd period lead. The Snakes need to be more discipline. What a crazy schedule as this is the first of three straight games vs Prince George. Prior to tonight, the Vipers had twelve games left in the regular season, with six of those games vs PG. Nice to see a big crowd and fans still coming out to support the Spruce Kings, even with a losing record.
