The BC Hockey League announced today that Spruce Grove, Brooks, Sherwood Park, Blackfalds & Okotoks have joined the BCHL effective immediately.

I think this is a good move. Now, with 22 teams maybe we won't see the same teams 8 times a year! I would go to the Vipers more often if it wasn't SA, Pent, Westside, Trail, Merrit every year. Have I left anybody out?
I would expect that next years schedule will reflect the consideration of travel expenses, so, still lots of games within the division.
At least now there will be an extra incentive for the BCHL teams to play for something more than the league Championship.
