Vipers Recieve Honourable Mention In CJHL Top 20 Weekly Rankings:

CALGARY, Alta. – The latest Canadian Junior Hockey League Top 20 rankings are out and the Carleton Place Canadians (CCHL) are the new No. 1 club in the 132-team CJHL.

MHL: The surging South Shore Lumberjacks remain 10th in the rankings this week with the Edmundston Blizzard moving to 14th and the Yarmouth Jr. A Mariners 19th.

LHJAAAQ: Les Cobras de Terrebonne is now slotted No. 4 nationally while College Français de
Longueuil comes in at No. 15 across the country.

CCHL: New CJHL No. 1, the Carleton Place Canadians, have reeled off 27 wins in 29 games and have a healthy lead on the Fred Page Cup-host Ottawa Jr. ‘A’ Senators, now No. 8 in the nation, for first overall in the CCHL.

OJHL: The Georgetown Raiders have moved up to No. 7 in the rankings while the Toronto Patriots are 12th. Earning honourable is the Wellington Dukes and Oakville Blades.

NOJHL: The NOJHL-leading Powassan Voodoos continue to produce and have been tabbed fifth in the CJHL up a notch from last week’s selections.

SIJHL: Despite suffering their first loss Saturday, the 18-1 Thief River Falls Norskies are second in the rankings while the Dudley-Hewitt Cup host Dryden GM Ice Dogs is ninth.

MJHL: The OCN Blizzard jumped to 16th in the CJHL and the Steinbach Pistons were slotted 18th. The Winkler Flyers garnered honourable mention status.

SJHL: The Battlefords North Stars are now sixth in the CJHL and the Melfort Mustangs picked up a No. 17th nod for their on-ice efforts.

AJHL: The Okotoks Oilers have moved up to No. 3 with the Fort McMurray Oil Barons tabbed 11th and the Whitecourt Wolverines were ranked 20th in the country.

BCHL: The Trail Smoke Eaters moved up to No. 13 in the CJHL this week while the Penticton Vees and Vernon Vipers secured honourable mention status.
