Ex Viper Shortridge Named ECAC Goaltender Of The Week:























Former Vernon Vipers goaltender Andrew Shortridge has been named the ECAC goaltender of the Week.

Shortridge is in his second season with Quinnipiac University after playing one season in Vernon (2015-16). In 44 games with the Vipers last season Shortridge went 19-25 with two shutouts posting a 3.15 GAA

Andrew Shortridge Named ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week

ALBANY, New York – Quinnipiac men's ice hockey sophomore Andrew Shortridge (Anchorage, Alaska) was named the ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017 as announced by the league office. Shortridge's stellar weekend also earned him the honor of being named as one of NCAA Hockey's three stars of the week.

Shortridge posted a shutout in in the Bobcats' 5-0 victory against Brown on Friday, Nov. 17. The second-year Bobcat followed with another shutout in Quinnipiac's 3-0 win over rival Yale on Saturday, Nov. 18. Shortridge is the first goalie in the nation to post back-to-back shutouts in a weekend series this season. Shortridge was also the first Quinnipiac goalie to record back-to-back shutouts since Michael Garteig against Yale on Dec. 4, 2015 and Brown on Dec. 5, 2015.

After his 52-save weekend, Shortridge now boasts a .925 save percentage and a 1.85 goals-against average this season. The Bobcats' goalie now owns a scoreless streak of 129:15 dating back to the third period of Quinnipiac's game at Union.

Quinnipiac is back in action this weekend when it takes on the University of Massachusetts in a home-and-home series. The Bobcats will host the Minutemen on Friday at the Frank Perrotti, Jr. Arena at 7 PM, followed by traveling to take on the Minutemen at Mullins Arena in Amherst on Saturday at 7:30 PM.
