Vipers Down Trail 5-3 in EX – The BCHL Vernon Vipers wrapped up their exhibition season with a 5-3 victory over the Trail Smoke Eaters to wrap up the pre-season with a 3-and-1 record.
There must have been a little bad blood left over from last year’s playoff meeting as both teams dished out some big hits and even the odd dirty shot as many players are still looking to earn a spot on one of the Junior A squads.
Vipers second year defenceman Chris Jandric had a strong game with a pair of goals including the game winner late in the 3rd period.
The Vernon Vipers will have now six days to trim their roster and get ready for their home opener which kicks off with a home and home series with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks starting in the Shuswap on September 8th.
