Imoo backstops Cents to three big wins, earns BCHL POW honours

Merritt Centennials goalie Jonah Imoo has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 18, the league announced Monday.
Imoo was in net for all three Cents wins last week and made 97 saves on 103 shots for a .942 save percentage. The Surrey, B.C. product made 27 stops to begin his week in a 5-2 victory over then-Mainland-leading Langley. He followed that up with his busiest and best game of the week with 37 stops and a 1st Star nod in a 4-1 win over league-leading Penticton. The 20-year-old concluded his week making 33 more stops in a 6-3 win over Island-leading Nanaimo.
