The NHL Florida Panthers have added former Vernon Vipers defenceman Tyson Strachan to their roster. No official press release on the addition of Strachan but the former Viper is listed on the Panthers roster-lineup. Strachan is pointless in three games with the Panthers. Strachan started the season with the AHL San Antonio Rampage playing in 24 games collecting (1-8-9). The Rampage invited Strachan to training camp and then signed to a Professional Try-Out Contract (PTO) back on September, 28th 2012.
Strachan split last year with the NHL
Florida Panthers and the AHL San Antonio Rampage. In 50 regular season games
with the Rampage Strachan collected (3-14-17) and in 15 regular season games
with the Panthers Strachan collected (1-2-3). Strachan signed as a free agent
with the Florida Panthers back in July 2011 after playing the last four seasons
with the AHL Peoria Rivermen & the NHL St. Louis Blues. Strachan played
one season in Vernon (2002-03) collecting (6-22-28) in 56 regular season games
with the Vipers, before playing four years at Ohio State University. Strachan
was drafted by Carolina in the fifth round (137th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry
Draft.
