Kraus lands job with Grizzlies
Published: August 07, 2011
If the Revelstoke Grizzlies were looking for a blend of youth and leadership in their coaching staff, they certainly found it in Kevin Kraus.
The former Vernon Viper blueliner captain has agreed to an assistant coaching role with the Grizz for the coming Kootenay International Junior Lacrosse League season.
Kraus, who played with the WHL Kamloops Blazers and Tri-City Americans before joining Vernon, will serve under new head coach Randy Quackenbush, who took over for Rylan Ferster, now the bench boss of the BCHL Westside Warriors.
Darren Komonoski is the associate coach with Revelstoke.
After winning back-to-back RBC Cup national junior A titles with Vernon in 2009 and ‘10, Kraus, now 22, went on to play minor pro last season.
He recently earned his certificate as a power equipment operator.
