Vernon Vipers forward Connor Jones has been named the British Columbia Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending April 19th, the league announced Monday.
Jones was named first star in both games he suited up for last week, playing a crucial role in staking the Vipers to a 2-0 series lead in their Doyle Cup series against the Grand Prairie Storm.
On Friday night, Jones broke up a tie game early in the third period when he struck for the game winner in a 2-1 win. One night later, he assisted on a trio of first period goals that led to a 6-2 victory.
In total, the line of Connor and Kellen Jones and Sahir Gill tallied three goals and seven assists in Games 1 and 2.
Jones led the Vipers with 60 regular season points and had tallied another 18 in 17 playoff games en route to Vernon's Fred Page Cup win over the Powell River Kings.
The Doyle Cup resumes Tuesday in Grand Prairie.
