Hey, Thanks for the blurb, the TOJLL website is created by LacrosseShift.com, I just manage it, input stats and design.
The Reapers website is a template by ColorLib.com which I customized to the teams needs.
Garth Gartner and Chad Pounder both have sons that play on the team.
Trevor McEachnie played junior lacrosse for the Vernon Tigers an other name Viper fans would recognize is Robbie short who also played for the Tigers.
As a longtime Tigers fan/season ticket holder, I'm very disappointed the team has moved to Armstrong. For someone with no car or drivers license I'm not able to go to games anymore. I could try to catch a ride with someone but don't know many people that go to the games. As a longtime Vipers fan/season ticket holder, I'm lucky enough to be able to ride my bike to the games, but riding my bike on the highway to Armstrong is a little more difficult/dangerous.
The team had to move to Armstrong because the City of Vernon had our previous GM as a contact which meant that no one on our team was contacted for floor time. Subsequently, all our floor time was given over to ball hockey.
Armstrong is also, more centrally located as the team is representing Vernon, Armstrong and Salmon Arm areas hence the North Okanagan moniker. Also, Sunbelt Sports Centre is by far a-lot cheaper to rent so, saves the team a ton of cash.
Hi, Jim, The atmosphere in Armstrong is also more conducive to the amount of fans at the game. With about 200-300 fans which are all closer together and closer to the action, it makes for a better fan experience. Where as in Kal Tire Place, even though there was 300-500 fans, it always felt like it was empty.
Blain Stowards also, has a son playing on the team.
….and the Reapers play against the Kelowna Kodiaks which feature former Vernon Viper, Lennie Rampones’ son, Jonah Rampone.
