Giants Recall Fuller Over Holiday Break:

The Western Hockey League Vancouver Giants called up Vernon Vipers defenceman Landon Fuller while the Vernon Vipers were on their holiday-Christmas break. Fuller played two games with the Giants. A 3-1 loss January 1st in Edmonton and a 4-3 loss January 2nd in Medicine Hat.

The Vipers acquired Fuller September 25 2018 from Coquitlam for Nicholas Wildgoose. The Giants added Fuller to their roster November 3rd 2018. Fuller played three games with the Giants in the month of November before returning to the Vipers. Fuller has gone pointless in five games this season with the Vancouver Giants.

Again , where's the " quid pro quo " ? The CHL has harmed the progress of teams like the Vipes . " The Big Boys " , seem to be able to raid the rosters of BCJHL teams with impunity . Should not CHL teams be constrained to offer some form of player compensation for these kinds of " thefts " ?

I see no issue with Fuller playing a few games with the Giants as it did not affect any games with the Vipers. The chances are very slim that they will keep him as he was filling in for injuries. Also, most importantly, he earned another year of Canadian university scholarship money so now has 4 years earned. I am sure Ferner has no issue either as he is all about supporting & creating opportunities for his players. This is a much different case that losing players when they sign with WHL teams. Good on Landon, hope he returns next year for his final year of junior as a 20 year old.
