Former Vernon Vipers Ben Butcher & Kurt Black both received honorable mention for this week's BCHL player of the week.Black was an affiliated player "AP" with the Vipers during the 2012-13 season, went pointless in two games. Black spent last season in Chilliwack before being traded to Trail on April 10th 2015.

The Vipers acquired Butcher from the Chilliwack Chiefs on June 2nd 2014 for future considerations. Butcher never played a game with Vernon, was traded along with Demico Hannoun to the Surrey Eagles on June 9th 2014 for future considerations.

Osczevski's big weekend earns him first BCHL POW of the season

Cowichan Valley Capitals forward Adam Osczevski has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 13, the league announced Monday.
Osczevski led the Caps to two home-ice wins in as many nights. On Saturday, the native of Martensville, Sask. went off for four goals, including the game-winner in a Caps' 6-3 win over the Alberni Valley Bulldogs. He scored the first four goals of the game for the Caps and was named the game's 1st Star. On BCHL Opening Night Friday, The 6-foot, 180-pound forward assisted on the game-winning goal in a 3-2 victory over the Victoria Grizzlies.
The 19-year-old is tied for the BCHL scoring lead and is atop the league with his four goals.
