Team Blue Wins Peaches Cup

Posted on August 31, 2015 by frodgers

The annual Peaches Cup Intrasquad game went down Saturday at the SOEC and Team Blue came out on top, scoring a 6-2 win over Team White. Blue’s offense was led by Demico Hannoun (2-0-2), Easton Brodzinski (1-1-2) and Jason lavallee (1-1-2).

Anthony Brodeur started for Team Blue and was very sharp, working a clean sheet in 30-minutes of work. His outing was highlighted by two eye-popping kick-saves in short succession right in front of his net. Even Team White’s Tyson Jost walked over to Brodeur by the dressing rooms and gave him props in the intermission.

Brendan Barry was very good in goal for White as well, as he only conceded a Lavallee breakaway goal in half a game’s work.

The Vees trimmed down their roster after Saturday’s intrasquad game but are carrying a few extra bodies as the team prepares for their second exhibition game Wednesday at the SOEC versus West Kelowna.
