Joe Young finished his first season with the EJHL Boston Junior Bruins. Young played in 11 games last season posting a 2.71 GAA. Young was recruited by the Vipers winning the backup position last season with the Vipers over Danny Todosychuk. Todosychuk was released. After playing in just two games going 0-1 with a 4.35 GAA Young was put on the trade block while the Vipers brought back Todosychuk after playing in the KIJHL. No official word on if Young was traded or released by Vernon before signing with the Bruins. Young has committed to Union College for 2014-15.

Liam Board finished his first season with the Vipers last year after coming over from the Prince George Spruce Kings. The Spruce Kings sent Board to Vernon on November 22nd 2012 for Kevin Guiltinan and future considerations. In 33 games last season with the Vipers Board collected (5-10-15).

Joe Young and the Generals opened the Chowder Cup on Thursday July 18th defeating the New England Nordiques Jr A 4-1. Young was on the bench as Yoshi Kuroiwa picked up the win between the pipes.

The Boston Generals went to 2-0 in the Chowder Cup with a 5-0 win over East Coast Militia on Saturday July 20th. Young split the duties with Yoshi Kuroiwa as both goaltenders played twenty five minutes. Young made 15 saves on 15 shots.
