The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) Louisiana Ice Gators have signed
former Vernon Vipers tryout forward Troy Ofukany. The Ice Gators signed Ofukany to a three game tryout contract
February, 7th 2013 before signing the former Viper on February, 14th 2013. No official press release from the Ice Gators but the
signing is posted on the SPHL leagues website transactions page. In 15 games this season with Louisiana Ofukany has collected (5-5-10).
Ofukany played parts of last year and this season with the Central Hockey League (CHL) Tulsa Oilers & East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) Colorado Eagles. Ofukany signed with the ECHL Colorado Eagles in early October (2011) but was released on October, 19th 2011. Ofukany then signed with the CHL Tulsa Oilers in early December 2011 playing in 76 games over parts of two seasons collecting (13-21-34) before being waived on December, 28th 2012. Ofukany attended the 2004-05 Vernon Vipers training camp, playing in a few exibition games before leaving the Vipers, & signing with the WHL Kelowna Rockets that season.
