Winger Curtis Fraser, who helped the Alaska Aces win the Kelly Cup last month, is headed across the pond to Italy next season, according to eliteprospects.com
Fraser, who bagged six goals and 10 points in 13 playoff games as the Aces blew through the postseason, has signed with SG Cortina in Serie A.
Fraser, the former UAF skater who spend most of last season in the American Hockey League and furnished the Aces with 6-8--14 totals in 20 regular-season games, is especially good at going to the tough areas -- i.e. front of the net and the corners.
Some of you hardcores in the Cowbell Crew may remember that Cortina is where another former UAF winger, Cam Keith, went to play after the Aces advanced to Game 7 of the Kelly Cup Finals in 2009.
Keith, by the way, is listed as already signed to play the upcoming season in the German Bundesliga, its second division, according to eliteprospects.com.
Fraser is the second Ace from the championship team to head abroad -- winger Kory Falite is headed to Norway, according to eliteprospects.com
