Doyle Cup Game 5 Preview: Vernon @ Spruce Grove:

Tonight is Game 5 of the Doyle Cup as the BCHL Fred Page Cup Champion Vernon Vipers tied the series with a 3-1 victory in game 4 last night over the AJHL Enerflex Champion Spruce Grove Saints. You can listen to tonight's game live on 107.5 Kiss FM with Todd Miller and Don Klepp starting with the pre game show at 5:45 PM

-Tonight is another key game for both teams. A win by the Vipers and they are one win away from heading to their 9th National Championship

-The Vipers need to slow the game down early and take the crowd out of the game

-Vernon has the 12th best powerplay in the BCHL playoffs

-The Vipers have alot of confidence playing on the road with a 8-1 playoff road record

-Vernon has to try and weather the storm early and play a solid road game just like in Game 4

-The Vipers have the 6th best penalty kill during the BCHL post season

-The Vipers need to keep things simple and play a solid defensive road game

-Vernon has to try and find a way to stop Scott Allen who has (3-1-4) in three games vs the Vipers this series

-Kirby Halcrow (12-5 Record) is ranked 4th amongst BCHL playoff goaltenders

-Vernon needs to play physical and compete for a full 60 minutes

-Dylan Walchuk (10-5-15) & Patrick McGillis (6-9-15) are both in the BCHL playoffs top twenty scoring leaders

-Vernon is 2-5 in these playoffs when giving up the games first goal

-The Vipers are 3-1 all time at the Grant Fuhr arena

-Vernon needs to shoot and try and get lots of pucks on net with the man advantage
